Our Story

“Sharq” means the East

For centuries, caravans crossed the Silk Road through Samarkand and Bukhara, carrying spices, silk and recipes that the world had never tasted. SHARQ carries that journey to two houses on this side of the world — Philadelphia and Brooklyn — and you are sitting in the one on Coney Island Avenue.

Our kitchen is built around the tandyr oven and the kazan — slow fire, real lamb, hand-pulled noodles and rice that soaks up every spice. Every dish is halal, made from scratch, the way it has been made in Uzbek family homes for generations.

Come as a guest. Leave as family — that is the only rule of the East.
